Dietary inflammatory index and endometrial cancer risk in an Italian case-control study

High dietary exposure to pro-inflammatory foods may trigger the development of endometrial cancer in women.

This study clarified the correlation between the inflammatory score of a diet and a woman's propensity to come down with endometrial cancer. Researchers charted eating patterns against the occurrence of endometrial cancer among 1,362 Italian women.

Researchers noted that women who ate pro-inflammatory foods had higher likelihood of developing endometrial cancer than their counterparts on anti-inflammatory diet. This study arrived at the conclusion that "a pro-inflammatory diet may increase the risk for endometrial cancer."
