Dietary inflammatory index and type 2 diabetes in US women: a cross-sectional analysis of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 2007-2018

Boarding the pro-inflammatory diet train may lead to the development of type 2 diabetes in women.

This study evaluated the hypothesis that women consuming pro-inflammatory foods may have a high propensity to suffer from type 2 diabetes (T2D). Researchers scrutinized the diets and type 2 diabetes odds of more 8,000 women.

Researchers found a 56% surge in type 2 diabetes risk among peak consumers of pro-inflammatory foods. Evidence from this study indicate that fondness for pro-inflammatory foods may give rise to type 2 diabetes in women.
