Dietary flavonoids and cancer risk: evidence from human population studies
Eating foods high in flavonoids, particularly fruits and vegetables, regularly may help an individual to keep cancer at bay.
This meta-analysis summarized the findings of published studies that focused on the association between dietary intake of flavonoids and the risk of developing cancer. Data from 10 human and animal studies were examined for this meta-analysis.
Researchers noticed that habitual consumption of flavonoid-rich foods, especially fruits and vegetables, resulted in a decrease in the risk of cancer. This meta-analysis corroborated the results of previous studies that supported regular ingestion of flavonoid-containing foods for the prevention of cancer.
