Does fruit and vegetable consumption impact mental health? Systematic review and meta-analyses of published controlled intervention studies
Filling our plates with generous portions of fruits and vegetables may be beneficial enhancing mental health and preventing symptoms of depression and anxiety.
This meta-analysis assessed if eating fruits and vegetables is tied to improved mental health. Data from 17 studies were included in this meta-analysis.
Researchers observed a favorable relationship between greater consumption of fruits and vegetables, better psychological wellbeing, and lower risk of depression and anxiety. This study pointed out the positive impact of high fruit and vegetable diets on mental health.
