Unhealthy Food and Psychological Stress: The Association between Ultra-Processed Food Consumption and Perceived Stress in Working-Class Young Adults
Young adults who enjoy consuming ultra-processed foods may be prone to suffering from psychological stress.
This study examined the impact of eating unhealthy foods, such as ultra-processed foods, on stress levels in young adults. The study population comprised of 1,270 young men and women who provided relevant information.
Researchers found out that the higher the amounts of ultra-processed foods consumed by participants, the greater the level of psychological stress experienced by them. This study pointed out the detrimental role played by ultra-processed food in increasing psychological stress in young men and women.
