The association between flavonoids intake and hypertension in U.S. adults: A cross-sectional study from The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

High dietary ingestion of flavonoids may reduce the incidence of hypertension in men and women.

This study set out to unravel the puzzle linking the consumption of flavonoid-rich foods with the development of hypertension. Researchers gathered dietary and health data from over 15,000 men and women. 

Researchers found a strong connection between habitual intake of flavonoid-containing foods and diminished risk of hypertension. The findings of this study revealed that sticking to a high flavonoid diet may help to ward off hypertension in men and women.
