The correlation between fruit intake and all-cause mortality in hypertensive patients: a 10-year follow-up study
Regular consumption of fruits, such as apples and bananas, may decrease death rates in hypertensive patients.
This study clarified the relationship between the intake of fruits and mortality risk in hypertensive patients. Researchers monitored the eating habits and death toll in a study population comprising of 2,480 patients with hypertension.
After a follow-up period of 10 years, researchers noticed low mortality rate among consistent consumers of fruits, such as apples and bananas, in this study. The findings of this study revealed that frequent ingestion of fruits may cut down an individual's risk of suffering from premature death arising from hypertension and other chronic diseases.
