Systematic Review with Meta-Analysis: Low-Level Alcohol Consumption and the Risk of Liver Cancer

Moderate and heavy users of alcohol are highly prone to develop and die prematurely from liver cancer.

This study seek more clarification on the alcohol-liver cancer connection hypothesis. Researchers performed a meta-analysis on data extracted from 28 scientific publications.

Researchers pointed out that moderate and heavy drinking of alcohol increased the risk of not only developing but also dying from liver cancer. This meta-analysis showed that alcohol usage may result in a spike in liver cancer diagnosis and mortality rates.
