Association between the dietary inflammatory index and gout in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2007-2018

Opting for a pro-inflammatory diet may boost an individual's odds of suffering from gout.

This study set out to unravel the puzzle linking the intake of pro-inflammatory diet and the development of gout. The study population included more than 27,000 American men and women.

Researchers discovered that gout affected a high number of consumers of pro-inflammatory foods. This study suggested that a pro-inflammatory diet might be one of the risk factors that foster the development of gout.
