Perimenopausal Physical Activity and Dementia Risk: A Systematic Review
Being physically active early in life may help shield elderly women from dementia.
This study clarified the correlation between adopting a physically active lifestyle and the subsequent development of dementia in later life in women. Researchers performed a comprehensive meta-analysis on a set of data drawn out from 14 studies.
Researchers discovered that post-menopausal dementia was less likely to affect pre-menopausal and peri-menopausal women who regularly engaged in physical activity. This study emphasized the important role early life physical activity play in the prevention of dementia in later life in women.
