Dietary antioxidant and inflammatory potential in asthmatic patients and its association with all-cause mortality
Sustained consumption of foods high in antioxidants may slash mortality risk in asthmatic patients significantly.
This study investigated the effect of consuming pro-inflammatory foods on death toll in asthmatic patients. Researchers monitored the dietary and mortality records of 4,698 patients with asthma.
Researchers noted a high mortality burden among asthmatic patients who enjoyed eating generous amounts of pro-inflammatory foods. On the other hand, frequent intake of antioxidant-rich foods was found to decrease mortality risk among individuals suffering asthma in this study." Reducing pro-inflammatory or increasing antioxidant diets could reduce all-cause mortality among adult asthma patients," the study concluded.
