Quality of plant-based diets and risk of hypertension: a Korean genome and examination study

Boarding the healthy plant-based diet train may help drive down the risk of hypertension in men and women.

This study was carried out to confirm the protective effect of healthy plant foods against hypertension. Researchers surveyed the diet and health of 5,636 Korean men and women over a 14-year period. During the course of the study, a total of 2,244 participants was diagnosed with hypertension.

Researchers found out that consumers of healthy plant foods had low likelihood of having hypertension. This 2021 study of Korean men and women documented that eating a healthy plant-based diet may be beneficial for the prevention of hypertension.
