Joint tobacco smoking and alcohol intake exacerbates cancer risk in women- the Danish nurse cohort

Imbibing the habit of consuming alcohol and smoking tobacco may propel a woman on the path to developing cancer.

This study examined the relationship between tobacco smoking and alcohol drinking and a woman's disposition to having cancer. Researchers asked 16,106 Danish nurses to fill out questionnaires related to their cancer diagnosis status and lifestyle choices, including tobacco and alcohol usage habits.

Researchers observed that the odds of receiving a diagnosis of cancer were tilted against cigarette smokers and alcohol consumers. This study provided additional evidence supporting the cancer-promoting effect of tobacco smoking and alcohol drinking in women.
