The effects of pomegranate consumption on obesity indices in adults: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Optimal intake of pomegranate may promote weight reduction in obese individuals.

This meta-analysis summarized evidence from published studies that examined the effect of frequent consumption of pomegranate on weight gain and obesity. Data from 28 studies were evaluated for this meta-analysis. 

Data analysis revealed that a significant decrease in waist circumference (WC), body fat percentage (BFP), and body mass index (BMI) in obese individuals who ate generous portions of pomegranate consistently. This study demonstrated that fondness for pomegranate may favor weight reduction in obese individuals.
