Effects of whole grain intake on glycemic traits: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Incorporating whole grains into our diet may confer us with healthy blood levels of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), fasting glucose, and insulin.

This study seeks to clarify the effects a high whole grain diet has on serum concentrations of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), fasting glucose, and insulin. Researchers performed a meta-analysis on data extracted from 48 published scientific studies.

Researchers noticed healthier plasma levels of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C), fasting glucose, and insulin among frequent eaters of whole grains. The data from this study support the consumption of whole grains as part of dietary measure to reduce and keep glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), fasting glucose, and insulin within the normal range.
