The association between flavonoids intake and hypertension in U.S. adults: A cross-sectional study from The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

High dietary ingestion of flavonoids may reduce the incidence of hypertension in men and women.

​This study set out to unravel the puzzle linking the consumption of flavonoid-rich foods with the development of hypertension. Researchers gathered dietary and health data from over 15,000 men and women. 

Researchers found a strong connection between habitual intake of flavonoid-containing foods and diminished risk of hypertension. The findings of this study revealed that sticking to a high flavonoid diet may help to ward off hypertension in men and women.
