Adherence to a vegan diet may protect women against breast cancer.
This study examined the consumption of vegetarian diets in relation to the prevention of breast cancer. Researchers studied the dietary and medical records of more than 50,000 American Seventh-day Adventist women obtained through validated food frequency questionnaires and hospital records.
Researchers discovered that vegans exhibited low risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer compared to non-vegetarians. The results of this study show that following a vegan diet may help guard against the development of breast cancer in women.
