The odds of dying prematurely from chronic diseases may be stacked against habitual eaters of ultra-processed foods.
This study reviewed the impact of high dietary ingestion of ultra-processed foods on mortality risk. Researchers monitored the dietary habits and death rates in a study population comprising of more than 100,000 men and women over a 30-year period.
Researchers observed that a high death toll was recorded among participants who enjoyed consuming ultra-processed foods, such as processed meats and sugar-sweetened beverages. The findings of this study revealed that lovers of ultra-processed foods are likely to suffer from premature deaths arising from chronic diseases.
