Filling our plates with fruits and vegetables regularly may help shield us from dementia.
This study assessed the risk of dementia among consumers and non-consumers of fruits and vegetables. Researchers collated data on the nutritional habits and dementia diagnosis status of over 40,000 Japanese men and women within the age bracket of 50-79 years.
Researchers found out that strict adherence to a high fruit and vegetable diet slashed the risk of dementia significantly. The findings of this study suggest that individuals who want to increase their chances of evading dementia should add more fruits and vegetables to their diets.
