Examining Regional Differences of Dietary Inflammatory Index and Its Association with Depression and Depressive Symptoms in Korean Adults

Individuals with penchant for eating pro-inflammatory foods may be highly prone to suffer from depression.

​This study assessed the inflammatory scores of a diet in relation to the subsequent occurrence of depressive symptoms. Researchers charted dietary patterns against the presence or absence of depressive symptoms among 15,929 Korean men and women. 

Researchers noted that lovers of pro-inflammatory foods had high tendency to suffer from depression. This study concluded that fondness for pro-inflammatory diets may facilitate the onset of depressive symptoms in men and women.
