This study set out to unravel the puzzle linking alcohol consumption with the development of chronic diseases. Researchers collated and reviewed the findings of previously published studies on the subject.
Data analysis revealed a trend towards a rise in the incidence of different chronic diseases, including diabetes, cancer, pancreatitis, hypertension, stroke, liver disease, and cardiovascular ailments, was associated with alcohol intake. This study further affirmed that alcohol drinking may worsen the burden of chronic diseases globally.
