This research work explored the link between alcohol usage and pancreatic cancer risk in men and women. Researchers studied the alcohol drinking habits and health of 95,812 Japanese men and women for more than 20 years. During the course of the study, a total of 598 cases of pancreatic cancer were recorded among the participants.
Researchers noticed an upsurge in pancreatic cancer risk among men who were habitual consumers of alcohol. This study offered robust evidence supporting regular intake of alcohol as one of the lifestyle habits that contribute to the development of pancreatic cancer in men.
