The odds of suffering from urinary incontinence may be stacked against postmenopausal women on high-caffeine diet.
This study investigated the relationship between high dietary ingestion of caffeine and the incidence of urinary incontinence in postmenopausal women. Researchers examined the caffeine consumption habits and rate of occurrence of urinary incontinence among 4,028 postmenopausal Korean women.
Researchers noticed that urinary incontinence occurred more frequently among women who were lovers of caffeine-containing foods and beverages. This study provides evidence that frequent intake of caffeine-rich foods and drinks can trigger the onset of urinary incontinence in postmenopausal women.
