Heavy drinking of alcohol may trigger the onset of intracerebral hemorrhage.
This study focused on the link between alcohol use and the development of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Researchers monitored the alcohol drinking habits of 540 individuals with a history of intracerebral hemorrhage.
A high percentage of intracerebral hemorrhage was found among high consumers of alcohol in this study. "Heavy alcohol intake is associated with the occurrence of ICH at a young age," the authors noted.
