​This study clarified whether greater consumption of alcohol can influence an individual's risk of having probable rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder. Researchers charted alcohol drinking habits against sleep behavior in a study group comprising of more than 11,000 men and women. 

Researchers discovered the risk of suffering from probable rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder rose by 23% among consumers of alcoholic beverages. This study pointed out that alcohol users may be highly prone to developing probable rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder.
