Leisure-time physical activity and incident metabolic syndrome: a systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis of cohort studies

Cultivating the habit of participating in leisure time physical activity may help hinder the development of metabolic syndrome in men and women.

​This study ascertained the relationship between engaging in physical activity and an individual's propensity to suffer from metabolic syndrome. Researchers performed a meta-analysis on lifestyle and health data obtained from more than 75,000 men and women who took part in 16 studies. 

Researchers observed that participants who were physically active in their leisure time brightened their chances of fending off metabolic syndrome. The results of this study emphasized the importance of leisure time physical activity in the prevention of metabolic syndrome.
