Sticking to a diet that promotes the consumption of fruits, vegetables, tubers, and cereals may help guard against the occurrence of metabolic syndrome.
This study sought to investigate the incidence of metabolic syndrome among consumers of fruits, vegetables, tubers, and cereals. Researchers surveyed 515 Brazilian bank workers who completed questionnaires about their health, life, and dietary habits.
Researchers noticed that participants who regularly ate generous amounts of fruits, vegetables, cereals, and tubers were less prone to come down with metabolic syndrome than their colleagues who consumed little or none of these plant foods. This study provided a clear picture of how metabolic syndrome can be prevented with healthy dietary choices.
