This study assessed the prevalence of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) among individuals battling with cannabis use disorder. Over 4.7 million persons enrolled for this study and were evaluated for their lifestyle habits and the presence of irritable bowel syndrome.
Researchers discovered that cannabis abuse raised the risk of developing irritable bowel syndrome, especially among males. Evidence from this study indicate that misuse of cannabis may be a contributing factor to the onset of irritable bowel syndrome.
