Generous consumption of cruciferous vegetables may reduce stomach cancer risk.
This study examined the relationship between high dietary ingestion of cruciferous vegetables and the development of gastric (stomach) cancer. Researchers analyzed data extracted from six prospective and sixteen case-control studies. They found out that habitual consumers of cruciferous vegetables had lower odds of developing stomach cancer than individuals who rarely or did not eat these types of vegetables. The findings of this analysis reveal that high intake of cruciferous vegetables may protect individuals against stomach cancer.
