Habitual intake of raw garlic may help thwart the development of cancerous cells and tumors in the lungs.
This study evaluated the role high dietary ingestion of raw garlic play in the prevention of lung cancer. Researchers collated and analyzed data on the raw garlic consumption rates and lung cancer odds ratios of 865 subjects residing in Taiyuan, China.
Researchers discovered that consistent consumers of raw garlic had lower risk of developing lung cancer than individuals who did not consume raw garlic. This study adds to the growing literature describing a protective association between raw garlic intake and lung cancer.
