Citrus fruit intake and breast cancer risk: a quantitative systematic review.

Women who frequently consume citrus fruits are less prone to develop breast cancer.

This study examined the effect of regular intake of citrus fruits on breast cancer risk. Researchers conducted a systematic review on data and evidence extracted from 6 studies. They found out that a 6% reduction in breast cancer risk was associated with consistent consumption of citrus fruits. The results of this meta-analysis indicate that high dietary ingestion of citrus fruits may be beneficial in the prevention of breast cancer development.
