High dietary ingestion of fruits and vegetables may help improve brain health and prevent dementia, cognitive decline, and Alzheimer's disease.
The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the relationship between generous consumption of fruits and vegetables and the likelihood of suffering from cognitive disorders, such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and cognitive impairment. Researchers reviewed data extracted from 6 cohorts comprising of 21,175 individuals.Researchers found out that high consumers of fruits and vegetables had lower chances of developing cognitive disorders, such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Data from this study suggest that increased intake of diets high in fruits and vegetables may help prevent the onset of dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and cognitive decline.
