Consistent consumption of proteins from vegetables may help reduce the mortality from cardiovascular disease.

This study examined whether an association exists between the intake of proteins from vegetables and cardiovascular mortality risk. Researchers monitored dietary and mortality records in a study population comprising of 7,774 Japanese men and women aged 30 years and above for a period spanning over 13 years. 

Researchers noticed a low death toll from cardiovascular disease among participants with high dietary exposure to vegetable proteins. The findings of this study revealed that eating a diet packed with proteins from vegetables may help cut down the number of deaths attributed to cardiovascular disease.
